CHRIS FISHER

Chris Fisher (b. Golden, Colorado, and resides in Savannah, Georgia) graduated with a BA from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2001. He is currently an MFA candidate at the Savannah College of Art and Design. In between his undergraduate studies and re-entering the scholastic world in 2017, Fisher worked in corporate sales, and spent the majority of those years in the commercial real estate industry working as a sales and leasing broker.

Over the past two years, Fisher has been focused on process, chance, and performance. His work emphasizes the absurd - the absurdity of the art world. The absurdity of what sells and what doesn’t. The absurdity of how art is created and what is deemed as art. The absurdity of who decides. Mainly, he exaggerates the absurdity of himself and the position he finds himself in as a Forty-year-old graduate student.

Fisher’s works have been exhibited in numerous group and solo shows and he currently has opened an incubation gallery for emerging experimental artists in Savannah, Georgia.
